What do you think of when you hear the word gratitude? Maybe you think of thank you cards, Thanksgiving, or just two small words that you prompt your children to say when they receive a gift or some kind deed. The Bible says, “ Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ ” (Ephesians 5:20). This means that our grateful spirit should not just be an infrequent character trait that we pull out for special occasions or the holidays, but a daily spirit of praise. We truly have so much to be thankful for – each and every day. In reality, we do not often live like that. The constant demands, struggles, and worries get us down more often than they lead us to a heart of thankfulness.
