Don't Be Scared

Image
Halloween is next month, and while I don't celebrate thisholiday, I do like to take advantages of opportunities to share Jesus! Depending on where you live, there will be lots of children coming to your door asking for a treat. What better thing to give them than a reminder that Jesus loves them! Kids also love bouncy balls. If you don't have kids coming to your door, then go find them! Share this GLOW tract pack with kids at the store, at the park, at the library. Send a bunch with your children to school and have them share with their friends.

Fall For Jesus

Fall is here, and this is a GLOW tract pack that fits right in! The leaves are changing color and falling to the ground. Jesus never leaves!

Sharing Books for the Community

Image
I urge you to get out in your communities. LOVE people. HELP people. PRAY with people. Share HOPE. We did this just recently. We met so many hurting people who needed an encouraging word and a prayer. "Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Savior mingled with people as one who desired their good. He showed sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then He invited them, “Follow Me.” We need to come close to the people by personal effort. If we would give less time to sermonizing and more time to personal ministry, greater results would be seen. The poor are to be relieved, the sick cared for, the sorrowing and the bereaved comforted, the ignorant instructed, the inexperienced counseled. We are to weep with those who weep and to rejoice with those who rejoice. Accompanied by the power of persuasion, the power of prayer, the power of the love of God, this work will not, cannot, be without fruit." (Ministry of Heali...

Kindness

Image
This world needs more kindness.  This world needs more love.  This world needs more people who will think "not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." Philippians 2:4 Be that person!

Teacher Appreciation Week

Image
My kids are awesome and I appreciated their thoughtfulness so much!   This is how they appreciated me every day of Teacher Appreciation Week.

Garbage Collectors Appreication

Image
We heard that our garbage collectors were behind schedule because there was so much trash. We thought that called for cookies and GLOW tracts!

Covid Cards

Image
Not long ago I organized on online "spirit week" for homeschool families and one of the days was "make a difference day."  The point was to go and make a difference in someone else's life, despite the fact that we suppose to stay home because of Covid 19.  Our main project that day was writing cards for health care workers. We've collected names and addresses of people that we and that other friends know. We had names of nurses, doctors, therapists, custodians, and more.   We send them each a card with some encouragment and thanks inside.  We just wanted to appreciate those who are working on the front lines in this fight!

Door-to-Door at GYC

Image
Many people are scared by the thought of going door-to-door, but it is an essential work that CHristians must do!  There are people who might not be reached if we don't step out of our comfort zones and knock on their doors. Our group...bus 9, drop 5 We went two by two... We did electronic surveys finding out how we could better serve the community as well as leaving GLOW tracts and praying with people. This is our divine appointment! God lead us to this young Burmese refugee family who needs help with English as a second language and wants bible studies for their five children. After we gave them some GLOW tracts and prayed with them, we opened our eyes and the mother had tears. She spoke to the father and he translated that she had been praying for someone to come and teach their children about Jesus. Be available and Jesus will use you too!!

An "Easy Bowl"

Image
We totally made this up and it was so much fun.  We wanted to say goodbye as well and appreciate a family for their friendship.  We knew they would love this bowl so we filled with all sorts of things that would make their life a little easier.

Valentines

Image
Valentines the perfect time to share God's love with others.  People are so receptive and even adults love getting a valentine!

Updated Holiday Survival Kit

Image
I've updated the Holiday Survival Kit.  My experience tells me that people (especially in work places) love to receive these around the holidays.  It just reminds them that the holidays do not have to be a chaotic, stressful time and that Jesus can be their peace.

Spanish GLOW pack

Image
My first SPANISH GLOW tract pack!!  I had to edit and edit this but with the help of some Spanish speaking friends I had this ready for some friends who went on a mission trip to Mexico!

Random Acts of Kindness

Image
We made up these Random Act of Kindness cards...then we looked for ways to bless people. We go over the Mackinac Bridge a lot since we moved to the UP so we payed for the car behind us and asked the clerk to share the card with them.   On our way south one time we stopped at Taco Bell so we also paid for someone's meal who was going through the drive-through.  The teller told us they were super excited about the kind deed.

On-The-Go Missionary Toolbox

Image
We made these missionary toolboxes as gifts for people.  Now they have all sorts of missionary "tools" that they can share.  These store nicely in the back seat of the car or in the trunk so that you're sure to have what you need when occasion to share Jesus arises!

Character Offense Cards

Image
Parenting.  One of the hardest things to do.  But with the Lord, all things are possible!  I have found that when it comes to discipline and correction, the best thing to do is to show my children what God's standard is for us.  It's only God who can change our hearts and they really can't argue with God's word.  I've seen it change my children's hearts and attitudes.   These flashcards are great for child training, discussions, and memorization!  There nothing better to hide in our hearts than God's Word. There are 32 cards in this set.   Each card includes a Bible verse to deal with the offense as well as a scripture verse to fight that offense. The 32 offenses include: complaining, lying, anger, fearfulness, selfishness, not listening, pride, bad words, laziness, disobedience, arguing, unkindness, boasting, defiance, bad attitude, judging others, being impulsive, interrupting, tattling, disrespect, being irresponsib...

Blood Drive

Praise the Lord our town blood drive was on Monday when people were still free to carefully move about. We provided 40 apples and oranges along with our Health GLOW packs for everyone who donated blood.

Health GLOW Tract Packs

Image
It's amazing how quickly life can change!  At the beginning of this Coronavirus pandemic in America I started thinking about how we could share health because the best time to share something is when people need it. This is the pack we came up with and until we were asked to stay home we has so much fun sharing it! These contain: 1 Steps to Health GLOW tract 1 health card with NEWSTART health tips on the back 2 vitamin C drops We stopped by the local police department and were able to share 25 packs there. The ladies at the front desk thought it was a great idea and took one for ask the officers and support staff. We also went to Walmart one day and shared some with the people working there. The last man I handed one to love it so much he said "If it weren't for this whole pandemic thing I'd hug you!"

Member Package

Image
We put together a little package of encouragement for our church members yesterday. The vast majority of them do not have a strong enough internet service so they can download or live stream sermons and none of our churches offer live streaming anyway. Besides phone calls we wanted to find a way to reach out to them and stay in touch. We do have a phone tree in place for each church but we also put together this little package that includes a timely and encouraging sermon, a newsletter out together by our family, a tithe envelope, and a letter. We sent this to attending and nonattending members so we are praying that the Holy Spirit waters these seeds we are planting.
